Supplies Turn Ideas Into Reality
A retired sewing machine powers a youth drop-in; off-cuts of soapstone become beginner carving blocks; unused SD cards feed our Story-Recording Lab. In-kind gifts stretch our budget and make every workshop accessible – especially for the 6 000+ Inuit who now call Ottawa home.
Current Wish-List
- Sewing & Textile: Portable machines, glover needles, heavy-duty thread, furs or sealskin off-cuts, artificial sinew. Fabrics and notions. Older Inuit clothing items can be used for patterns
- Carving & Shop: Soapstone (< 25 lb pieces), antler, ivory, riffler files, dust-mask cartridges (P100), clamp sets, broken carvings that can be repaired, or the materials reused. PPE for carving
- Beadwork & Jewellery: Size 10–12 seed beads, loom boards, nylon thread, beading wax
- Digital & Media: SD cards ≥ 32 GB, DSLR batteries (Canon LP-E6 / Nikon EN-EL15), LED panel lights, tripods
- Inuktitut books and media: Any printed or audi/ visual recorded materials in Inuktitut; inuktitut learning materials
- Inuit Art pieces: Isaruit welcomes all Inuit Art items for re-purposing. Pieces will either be placed in a permanent ‘samples’ collection, or may be auctioned off at Isaruit events for fundraising purposes.
