Lydia was raised in the community of Kangiqsualujjuaq. She now lives in Montreal. Lydia learned the basics of sewing at a young age at school through a cultural class. She admired the traditional Inuit clothing when she was growing up and now Lydia sews kamik’s, parkas and traditional pants, especially for throat singing performers. Lydia is learning how to make jewelry made from caribou antlers and ivory and sealskin.
