Overview
Words Carry Memory
Language holds history, humour, and healing. Our Language Arts pathway offers safe space to practise everyday conversation, refine professional translation skills, and record stories for future generations. Come listen, learn, speak, and share.

Conversation Circles
Speak, Listen, Laugh
Weekly small-group sessions for beginner to fluent speakers—guided by Elders and language teachers. Short games, everyday phrases, and plenty of laughter make learning comfortable and fun.
Translation & Interpretation
From Reports to Radio
- Ongoing deep discussions on terminology, writing systems, and ethics to support Inuit Interpreters and Translators
- Mentoring by seasoned translators (e.g., Martha Flaherty, Jeannie Manning, Leonie Kunuk, Jane Singoorie )
- Hub for contract work with —government, media, research
- Networking with and supporting other Inuktitut language specialists
- Inuktitut media resources and language learning materials
Story-Recording
Voices for the Next Generation
Book time in our Uqqausilirivvik to record Elders’ stories, traditional or present day songs, or other stories of Inuit life styles. Staff provide mic setup, editing help, and archiving to keep each recording safe for future listeners.
