Proudly Inuit-Governed and Guided
At Isaruit, Inuit ways of knowing, learning, and leading shape everything we do. Our governance structure is grounded in community values, with elders, artists, and knowledge keepers guiding our decisions and programs.
We are not a pan-Indigenous organization – we are specifically Inuit, serving Inuit in both urban and remote communities.

A word from our founders
The reason we started was because there were many inuit that wanted to start sewing again at the same time because from a young age in Nunavut you have to learn and practice sewing. It’s our tradition to start sewing early and it’s also a form of healing, cultural healing. Now Isaruit is well known by Inuitmiu and becoming more well known to Ottawamiutt.
