Isaruit Inuit Arts — Office Assistant
35 hours per week, 10:00 a.m. — 5:00 p.m.
Role:
Providing office support to the Centre Coordinator, and the Board of Isaruit Inuit Arts
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain Isaruit’s general files.
- Organize and file all financial records, and make spread sheet reports of financial transactions, with their project allocations listed.
- Under the direction of the Centre Coordinator, the Office Assistant will manage the digital Bright HR and Bright Safe platforms for all Isaruit employees and health and safety needs, including the BLIPP attendance app.
- Capture and archive files as needed, as directed by the coordinator
- Work with Board members to set up and record Board Meetings as needed.
- Help the Centre Coordinator organize and manage Isaruit’s digital files , especially the HR files , and when needed, paper files as well.
- Work as an Isaruit team member, support all staff in a variety of ways, as requested, and needed, and appropriate.
Requirements:
- Good written and verbal English and Inuktitut skills;
- Certification or extensive experience or training in Office Admin, Bookkeeping or Financial Planning
- Excellent organizational and computer skills,
- Good initiative to follow through on filing, financial and information projects
- An ability to work equally well alone or as a team member.
- Training for specific tasks will be available.
- Extensive knowledge of Inuit communities, culture and traditions, including Inuit Qaujimijaatuqaangiit and specifically the Ottawa Inuit Community
Working Parameters:
Under the supervision of the Centre Coordinator, flexible hours totalling 35 hours per week, at Isaruit’s main office at
Room #310, 815 St. Laurent Blvd, or possible from home. Remuneration will be in the range of $25—$28 per hour with
incremental raises available according to additional certification.
